My doc said to take it with or without food, once or twice a day -- in other

words, just to get that 100 mg. down me however. I am finding the same " induced

coma " feeling as I had with Gleevec, but I'll ride it out for the time being and

see if it passes.

Subject: [ ] Tasigna Sprycel question

Hello,

I am looking into info regarding the other options besides Gleevec.Tasigna

said it contains lactose.I am lactose intolerant would this drug not be an

option for me then? It also said to take it every 12 hours on an empty stomach.I

have to eat something every 2 hours due to diabetis and prior

surgeries(band,Wls)In order to get enough nutrients in me.Seems this would be an

issue for me as well then.

I couldn't find any info in the File section regarding Sprycel.I searched the

database for info and basically all I found was people having problems with it

and stopping use.Can those on this drug ofer any info about it.How is it

taken(with food/without?) How long before or after food?Side effects?

Any info for either med would be great if anyone cares to share their

experience.I want to switch off Gleevec due to QOL issues.Side effects are

really getting to me and I am tired of being tired and bedridden at 41.

Thanks in advance for any info offered.Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of

July.

I also had serious QOL issues with Gleevec and

switched to Tasigna. As stated, you cannot

eat or drink two hours before a dose or one

hour after. It has many less side effects than

Gleevec, at least for me, especially in the GI

area.

Within 30 days, I was able to reach PCRU

which I was

Dear Sharon S

I have been on Sprycel for two years.

The side effects in the beginning there were awful headaches but they subsided

nausea the big D but they too subsided. Fatigue (yes and no) i am able to be

awake all day But If I were to sit still for more than 5 minutes sure I could go

right to sleep. More like I am able to get relaxed easier. I have no problem

falling asleep at night.

Muscle pain I had to rebuild my stamina level yes it was painful in the

beginning. Joint pain in knees hips and elbows. And do have to take pain med

sometimes.

And of course have water retention. My face looks like a stuffed toad frog.

Honestly believe would go away with diuretics but Dr won't discuss the subject

with me. I have weight gain approx 20 pounds .

After 8 months of taking I was on a 11 week vacation ( Pleural effusion) and

restarted with no problems since. started out on 140 mg and after vacation from

it came back to 70 mg. Daily. It does not matter if I take it on an empty

stomach or with food. But I do drink at least a gallon of water a day.

Hope this helps. Anita

I think Suzzienovember had posted her  Sprycel F .Y.I on Internet.

Yeah I thought that is what happened but I was not sure. I did not

think anyone would do otherwise. Why????

Take care and how are you doing? I don’t post too much about how I am doing.

But I am doing well

I think a hacker was reading our emails, when I was at the library,

and somehow this person decided to write a letter using my name.

So, if that person found our site to be amusing, perhaps he/or she

learned something about US?!

Dory,

I think marion was replying to a message and copy pasted but did not delete

your name. All was a simple misunderstanding not a hacker.
