I am in a trial and Bobby and a few others in the group followed in their new trial. If all continues to go well for Bobby, everyone will be clamoring to get the new Ariad drug, since she is experiencing few side effects at this juncture in her trial. Science calls them TKIs, but I call them TKOs (technical knock outs). There were other drugs that kept us going until Gleevec came along and they are still available. We are all in a better place, even with the side effects and the constant labs and BMA's, although like Bobby, I think I have had enough of them. We both have about 46 under our belts. As Bobby said, with some trials, they didn't wait 3 months, they came every month. Sometimes I think the doctors and drug companies just wanted to see if they were working.
