I got no picture

[ ] Important word of warning to dog owners

Dear CML pals, I hope you get as much out of this as I did.

This says

it all!

If

you are an owner of a dog that belongs to a 'dangerous breed' category

and you have a small child please take this as a warning

DO

NOT leave your dog with the child unattended under any circumstances.

Only

a moment was enough for the following to happen. See the photo below.

Hi and our CML friends - as a dog breeder I can imagine what that

picture looked like. The picture won't show up as this list doesn't support

pictures/attachments.

We were lucky with my grand daughter when she was 2 years old and their old

kelpie without warning bit her on the face when they were getting out of the

car - luckily he didn't have many teeth left, but still got cuts on her nose

and corner of her eye (very fortunate didn't get her eye). I had repeatedly

told my daughter to keep him tied up/put down as he was a big danger. I have

helped stitch kids back up when they have been bitten.

In a long winded way I'm trying to say regardless of how " safe " your dog is

and I would back my Labradors any day, however, only something needs to go

wrong and the child could be scarred physically and emotionally for life.

Children and dogs should NEVER be left unsupervised and if the dog is at all

hesitant, then the dog should be removed to a safe place while the child is

there.

Regards,

Oh! That explains it!

Well, it was a very funny picture that showed a most content looking dog in a

reclined state, with a little boy next to him decorating the dog's white coat in

a festive manner with what looked like crayons or magic markers.

Hi - I'm sure it was very cute and probably 95% of the time is the

way it is. I have great pics of my kids and grand kids with our dogs over

the years.
