Guest guest
, First of all, what type of leukemia does she have? There are many types, and some are very treatable and you still can live a full life. Where in florida is she? I live in the southeast portion, in Palm Beach County. She can speak to people at the leukemia and lymphoma society there in Palm Beach. Just relax, and find out all the facts before you come running down here, unless you just want to be there for her. Getting upset doesn't help any situation, so take a deep breathe and relax. Guest guest
First, don't panic. You need to know what type of leukemia she has, that is very important in knowing what to do for her. CML, the type we all have in this group is now treatable... it used to be that it was almost always fatal. There has been a lot of progress in treating other leukemias as well. Listen to your aunt, ask questions and let her lead your response. > > I just recieved a phone call from my dear aunt. She lives alone in a development in Florida.I live in New York. > In a semi coherent phone call ,she informs me that she was diagnosed with Lukemia. > I wanted to fly down their to be with her. That was my first reaction. > To a person who is not at all familure with the desease ,I didn't know how severe this was.Is it treatable?
