hi jay, sorry to hear you are in such pain. it all sounds so familar

to me. i had very similar symptoms to which you describe in your

email. that was in 1993, the doc's tried everything to control it

without success untill i started an embrel trial 2 years ago and it

is working. no more stiffness much less pain (nearly none) and i

have a sort of life back. i had to change my life dramatically, sell

my home, find out who in the family could help me and thank god one

of my daughters invited me to live with her. she has since been

diagnosed with RA. the gene tests proved we both have it and there

is nothing we can do about it. your case so much reminds me of not

been able to lift my arms to comb my hair or look after my personal

hygeine. however things do get better in time the dr's do the best

they can to beat it for you but you must also take control of it and

make descisions on your own medical behalf. Most of the medical team

expect this type of effort from RA suffers. more and more drugs are

been developed to treat the disease. i shall ask our prayer group to

say a prayer on your behalf. i am now nearly 63 this month and i

still want a life of independance which i am certain every one

wants. good luck and god bless you. rosie
