Guest guest
Marcos, I love that expression " some go away suggestions. " That is priceless! From: montereyunderwater@... Date: Wed, 1 Jul 2009 12:07:08 -0700 Subject: [ ] glossy Novartis I had recently a rather frustrating experience that does not improve my opinion of the pharmaceutical companies. After someone post on about mycmlcircle program a few months ago I registered thinking it may be some source of information. A few weeks later I got in the mail a copay assistance card, that I wasn't expecting but got it anyway. With it some nice looking brochures about the merits of gleevec and tasigna and a letter explaining that Novartis, through some other company opushealth, would refund for a year 15$ for each copay (25$). Since dx I have used not far from 180,000$ of gleevec, giving back 180$ sounds very generous. At my next gleevec refill I present the copay assistance card to the pharmacist at Kaiser who tells me he can't do anything with it, I ask her to call the number on the card but she refuses to do it. So back at the office I call them myself and get quickly somebody quite cheery who tells me they will send a refund form in the mail. A month later still nothing so I call them back. This time the tone is a little different. The person from opushealth starts with some go away suggestions and then asks some funny questions, like do I know why Kaiser Permanente doesn't want to deal with their card. I ask him why somebody told me a month earlier they were sending a refund form and didn't without any explanation. He then ask me to hold, I wait 15mn, he come back to tell me they are investigating about Kaiser and I will be contacted soon. That was a month ago. I also talked with people at Kaiser without getting anywhere. I hope other people who got the card had better luck with it. I am giving up, not quite worth a fight. I wonder how much for the glossy brochures. Guest guest
Hi Marcos: I will let you know what happens when I get my next order of my Gleevec which is another 2 weeks. When I got my CML Circle card I called my pharmacy which is Accredo Phcy with Medco. He asked me for my number on the card to put into the computer, and nothing more was said. I am presently paying $80.00 for a 90 day supply. If I get a bill for just $65.00 then thats a plus for me, but if not I think my $80.00 is okay when I listen to what others are paying. I will post as soon as I know. I know how frustrating things get.
Guest guest
I had the same experience with the Kaiser Pharmacy and mycmlcircle crad number and tried calling customer service but I really didn't have the energy for the run around. They said the only time Kaiser can use a card is if it is like a credit card- whatever that means. --- On Wed, 7/1/09, Marcos Perreau Guimaraes <montereyunderwater@...> wrote: From: Marcos Perreau Guimaraes <montereyunderwater@...> Subject: [ ] glossy Novartis " " < > Date: Wednesday, July 1, 2009, 12:07 PM I had recently a rather frustrating experience that does not improve my opinion of the pharmaceutical companies. Guest guest
I am a Kaiser patient too. Never heard of the card. But I am so so thankful for what they do pay. Everytime I pick up my prescription for Tasigna 3 boxes of 28 pills, which .lasts me a little over three weeks the receipt says that Kaiser saved me $5000. It only costs me $30.00. Can you imagine --- I could not do it at all!!! Guest guest
The problem is not with Kaiser, I am also happy and lucky to have decent benefits from my work. My beef is with Novartis who can't even keep its word, even for so little. I don't need that bad the 180$ they promised to refund and I didn't ask for it in the first place, but they said they would. With the 40B$ they made in revenues with gleevec alone, one would think they wouldn't be fighting so hard to keep the change. I am pretty sure their lobbyists in Washington are using mycmlcircle right now to show how they give all back to the patients, everything is nice and rosy, you have nothing to change Mr President. Here's a glossy brochure. Marcos. On Wed, Jul 1, 2009 at 11:05 PM, Sharon Teichera<onthewtr@...> wrote: > > > I am a Kaiser patient too. Never heard of the card. Guest guest
Ive heard great things about Kaiser and some not so great things. My insurance is with HealthNet, I use greater sacramento pharmacy to fill my gleevec rx per my dr's recommendation (they deliver to my door the day after i call for a refill). Last month they let me know about the $15 rebate and they advised me they would be able to apply it for the next year!! I am happy to save $$ where i can!
