Welcome to our support group. I call it a system sometimes because

when someone writes in, we systematically answer your questions that is within

our purview or refer you to a website or someone who may know. I hope you will

become a regular by sharing your blood history and/or side effects. You will no

longer feel alone, as we all share commin traits and side effects. We have the

better leukemia to have as so much more is known and understood about it;

therefore, we have more treatments and even more getting ready to go into trial.

Quite a few of us are in a trial, so you may have questions about those, as well

which we will be happy to talk about.

I have had CML for 14 years and celebrated my 81st birthday last month. I am

in 5th trial and my present treatment still has not yet been approved by the

FDA. It's called SKI 606 and is formulated by Wyeth, so if you want to look up

any of these trials, you can google them very easily. Since we have a variety

of drugs, some of our other members may want to share their experience with you.

Wishing you luck and an invitation to write if you have any qualms or questions

about your current situation. We always advise our new patients the importance

of trying to find a CML specialist if at all possible.

Hands & hearts,

Lottie Duthu
