Fund Raising - Light the NIght

My fund raiser for Light the Night - going fantastically well

Raised around $7000.00 (Aust) and still 5 weeks to go

I have 3 or functions still to go

My Soup Kitchen has 4 weeks left - tomorrow Chicken and Corn

I now have cooking classes - pasta and mediterranian sauces

(Professional knife sharpener to the chefs for anyone who participates gets a

knife sharpened free.

Have raffles etc on the day

Then when all cooked - participants eat all the food - Yeh!!

I have 3 of these classes for the next 3 weeks.

Two Afternoon Tea Parties whereby everyone must wear a hat.

I have just purchased a hat that you would wear to the horse races so I can also

wear to the Perth Cup and Melbourne Cup Lunches in Australia, plus the tea

parties.

I have already made about $800 on the tickets with heaps of auctions and raffles

on the day so may pick up a couple of more $100's

In two weeks - the Light the Night LF are having a Cocktail Party to Launch the

campaign and I will be there having my cocktails for the Launch.

I am actually having a great deal of FUN

As I told Bobbie, Jackie and Tracey I must stop putting food into my mouth - and

the weight loss girls are starting all over again - today ladies was a good day

- said NO to food at least 400 times.

Tomorrow is my soup kitchen so thank goodness that fills me up

Cheers

Hugs to you Twinnie

Viv - not often that one has a CML twin -

diagnosed same day decades apart.

6th August - Had a BMA and Biopsy on the Tuesday - and that night contacted with

CML

Next day conversation and by the 9th August which is my birthday - I started

glivec -

and like Vivian - My specialist and Nurse said down the hatch

and absolutely nothing happened - my arms and legs did not fall off - so said

exactly like my twin VIV - what next - and my specialist said GO HOME !!

Looking back how niave I was but how extremely funny it was as well, as I said

OK and home I went.

Must go horses screaming for food - and Rugs on as it is going to rain. My dog

is also waiting for me and is getting a little fed up

as she is starting to wander down to the shed looking for me.
