Guest guest
I've written this before, so pardon me if I'm repeating, but I had multiple eye bleeds until someone on this list group told me to start taking bilberry or blueberry extract. I've been on Gleevec since 1999 and started the extract about 4 years ago. Since I started it, I have had only one eye bleed and that was while I was on a cruise to Alaska early this summer and it wasn't a bad one. I have no scientific proof that the extract is the reason, but I am continuing the extract. My ophthamologist assures me they're nothing serious to worry about, but they do look bad. I hope this helps. Gay Bratton On Aug 9, 2009, at 4:32 PM, suzzienovember wrote: > I am sure we have discussed this subject before, but I still get > upset when I get one. Guest guest
Hi Gay: My memory is another subject, seems like I don't have one half the time. Now I remember you mentioning the extract. Does it come in capsules also? My Oncologist did not seem concerned with the eyebleeds, but I actually felt this one coming on. I sat up in bed, and felt a twinge in the eye. I thought right away about a eyebleed, and when I went into the bathroom there it was. I did flush my eye with warm water a few times, and it did feel better. Thanks > I am sure we have discussed this subject before, but I still get > upset when I get one. I wanted to know if anyone on here has had > eyebleeds, and how often. Guest guest
While taking Gleevec I had the eyebleeds also. I could feel exactly when they would occur. Now that I have switched to Sprycel I have not had the first one. CML Dx Nov. 2002 > I am sure we have discussed this subject before, but I still get > upset when I get one. Guest guest
Thanks : This is why having each other in the group is so good, because when things happen to you it makes you wonder who else is going through it. I was glad you could feel it happen, because all my other ones I got well I was sleeping. This one I actually felt happening. What a horrible feeling. Now I know it happened to you too. > I am sure we have discussed this subject before, but I still get > upset when I get one. I wanted to know if anyone on here has had > eyebleeds, and how often. Guest guest
Yes, you can buy it in the grocery store in capsules. It's with the other vitamins, etc. I take one pill each day. My eyes used to sting a little when I had an eye bleed, but it didn't hurt. They just look bad. Good luck.
