Guest guest
You brought up a good point, how do you know gleevec pain from arthritis pain. When I am asked if I have fatigue, I say yes, but how do I know if it's the drug I am on, or is it the almost 80 years under my belt!! I almost feel guilty, feeling so good on this drug. I pray every night that it will last forever, and not end up with pleural effusion, or develop some other side effect. I have been on Ariad for 3 1/2 months so far, and have NO side effects at all. I have gone from 5. something PCR to .1 something, and think that is fabulous. I wish everyone could feel this good and have the drug work this well, so far, that is, and that's what I'm praying for, blessings to everyone, Bobby ps on a lighter note, I went to bed early last night to get up and drive to Ann Arbor today. I just about got to sleep when someone came pounding on our door, and I could hear him saying " fire! " man, that got me up and out the door, and our trash can, down at the end of the drive was on fire! Those two teenagers that saw it, not only came and told us, they lugged buckets of water down the drive to put it out, then the fire dep. came. And guess what caused it? Dog poop ! We clean it up out of her dog run, put it in a plastic bag and into the trash. I guess the heat of the day and the methane in the " doo doo " combusted! so, live and learn, but I never thought that could happen...... a (Bobby) Doyle Brecksville, Ohio, USA DX 05/1995 02/2000 - Gleevec Trial/OHSU 06/2002 - Gleevec/Trisenox Trial/OHSU 06/2003 - Gleevec/Zarnestra Trial/OHSU 04/2004 - Sprycel Trial/MDACC, CCR in 10 months #840 - Zavie's Zero Club 09/2006 - out of CCR 04/29/08 - XL228 Trial/ U.of Michigan 06/02/08 - CCR ( in 4 weeks) 02/13/09 - XL trial ended due to side effects 04/13/09 - New Trial, Ariad / U. of Mich./ Dr. Talpaz From: suzzienovember <suzzienovember@...> Subject: [ ] RE: Side Effects ??? Date: Monday, August 3, 2009, 11:44 AM Hi : This is so hard to figure out. I say this because if you remember I have been on Gleevec since 2000. I have had good days and bad days with the all over pain. The weird thing is that it has been tolerable. Now for 3 weeks, I have had pain from my neck down to my tailbone, and horrible pain in my left arm in the rotator cuff area. I have had that Bursitis Pain or whatever it is, but it never lasted this long. Does anyone know how you tell the difference between the Gleevec pain and Arthritis?? My oncologist thinks I am having Arthritis Pain. I also have it bad in my knees, where I have trouble getting up from a sitting position. In your case , you have had so many problems. Your also newer to it all. Hope you get some relief
