Guest guest
Did you consult your onc. before starting the Cumadin? Perhaps it's ok to take it, only at different times, but I would first consult with my onc. if I were you. Guest guest
I have been on Coumadin for 9 years due to the fact I had 2 embolisms in my left lung. I have been on Gleevec for 3 yrs + and no problem with either. My INR levels usuallly are 2.5. Maybe once every 4 months it goes either up or down but an adjustment in the dosage for 1 night usually brings it back to where it should be. As long as you have your blood tested every 4-5 weeks there should be no problem. Check with your oncologist and primary. Both of mine do the testing for INR levels. Guest guest
Hi, Welcome to the group. I have been on Gleevec for 8 ½ years and on Coumadin for 18 years. I take both pills at the same time. I take the Coumadin because I have a prosthetic aortic valve and need to keep the blood thin in order to prevent blood clots. Gleevec also has blood thinning properties. What is your cardiac problem and what level do they want your INR to be at. In my case they want it to be between 2.5 and 3.5. Also, how are you doing with your CML.
