Keep a diary of all side effects and discuss at each appointment.

Have a management plan for when you need to speak with your specialist after

hours, during hours.

Coldness !!

Well that is both a CML and Glivec issue - I can never make up my mind which so

both.

After all this time - I still get very cold.

Even in summer where everybody is - is in summer thin tops at a certain time on

comes a light cardigan or jumper.

It is winter where I live and it has been raining quite abit. (Australia)

The house is not cold but I am - walking around the house in a dressing gown and

beanie on head.

The cold I feel is coldness to the bone.

I use hot water bottles - heaps of blankets (rugs) - socks to bed etc at night.

PAIN !!

That is glivec doing its best work.

You may get pain or aches in specific parts of the bone.

I used to get those pains in the long bones, hips, lower back, fingers and feet

and I remember a collarbone at one time.

It will not be all over a bone just a specific part of the bone.

I remember someone on this group I think - stated it was the gas from leuk.

cells dying. There is a medical or scientific term

but that is the lay persons term.

Put hot wheat bags or hot gel packs on the sore area and walk the soreness out.

Keep hydrated. Keep as warm as possible.

If the aches, pains, cramps get too much seek relief by asking your specialist

for help and support, they are not there to be your friend

they are there to support you thru your illness and that is what your specialist

is for -

He/She would of stated to contact if any worries or issues - this is the type of

issue that you can and should contact them and make the

specialist aware of.

You are going to have CML for a long long time - and your responsiblity is to

have a good working relationship with your doctors and other

medical teams.

At least you know that glivec is working thru your body
