Hi Pam,

Talk to your hepatologist about this for sure. He needs to know what

all you are taking and he can tell you whether it is ok for you or

not. If he thinks it isn't he can probably recommend something in

place of it that the Rhumey can give you.

Pam Hi! i have spinal arthritis and two slipped discs plus when I was on the

treatment of course all the aches and pains. I was put on, and still am on (this

seems wierd but it works) 100mg elavil, and 300 mg neurontin about four hours

before bed time. Elavil is one of the first anti-depressants ever made (mid '50s

I think). The neurontin is an anti spasm drug. The thing is they are both

prescribed for pain by lots of doctors. I sleep through the night and in the

morning I am feeling very rested, but not all woozy stupid stumbly. Just passing

on the info, like they say on TV consult your doctor, to find out whats best for

you. And also I've been addicted to cocaine, crack, dilaudids, meth, crank,

darvons, liquid morphine, acid (2-300 trips), pot, hashish, tobacco and of

course with an addictive personality like mine the worst drug of all, lost love,

I tried heroin a couple of times but slaming a drug so you can spew is not my

idea of a high. So not being a pharmacologist, but having some expertise in the

field, I can tell you that I don't think this anti-depressant is addictive. SEE

YA..........................!

I too had trouble with some blood clots forming in the valves in the heart

area, so I had to go on a blood thinner. I was on Plavix for several years,

since I am allergic to Coumadin (warfarin). Then, around two years ago out

of the blue my neurologist called me into the office to tell me that I had to

get off of Plavix right away due to some bad side effects that had come up.

Then she put me on daily shots of Lovenox- 60 mll. which I self administer.

You see I had two TIA's before I went on the blood thinners- so I am more

than motivated to keep on the medication- although it is difficult to comply

with taking a daily needle!

ps I would check out the PDR about serious side effects of Plavix. My doc is

not normally a conservative person.

I know someone who has stopped taking Plavix and has asked if I know anyone who

has need of about a month's supply. If so, contact me and I will pass it on

down.

Hands & hearts,

Lottie
