Guest guest
Dear , I had completely forgotten about how many in our group had to experience C-difficle. It is a brute. I have no idea where I caught it, but it was a long uphill battle. I spent 12 hrs. in ER before they decided I was sick enough, not knowing I had c-diff. I heard the doctor mention that they needed to test me for it, but it takes hours to get results. Everyone in the lab knows my name. Every time I go to bring a specimen or to give one, they look up and say, " So you're Lottie Duthu, we all know you by name. " I had gone to the doctor for a bronchial cough and was given Cipro because it is only one of a few antibiotics I can take. Right in the middle of taking it, I was brought to the hospital and was put on an Avelox drip for 9 days. Recently I was on Darvon for an infection and went to ER; this time I had inflammation of the lining of my stomach. Next week I went to MDACC and they found I had a bladder infection and gave me Bactrim. Things went from bad to worse and I told my doctor I didn't want to be admitted from ER, so I went through the front door and was in a bed within an hour with all my meds lined up waiting to be administered. From this point on, I don't know what and if any antibiotics I will be able to take orally. C-diff is the new super bug and I am seriously allergic to vancomycin, even in a drip, so that leaves only Avelox that I know of. I don't like going anywhere to tell you the truth, because all I think of are germs waiting to invade my body. Take care and I hope you steer clear of c-diff. If there is anyone who doesn't know anything about it, I suggest they Google it and learn, as we are all subject to it. Hands & hearts, Lottie Duthu
Guest guest
can you imagine if all the lyme patients, most autistic children, many MS patients, fibromyalgia patients, prostate cancer patients, some breast cancer patients, some ovarian cancer patients, and patients with a myriad of other diseases, all end up having XMRV / MLV-related viruses?!! what the heck! would love to be the CEO of a pharmaceutical company that makes antiretrovirals right now (or have the money to buy a stock). but i'll settle for just not being deathly ill From: hope0073 <hope0073@...>infections Sent: Wed, August 25, 2010 2:49:19 PMSubject: [infections] Infections I'm now treating for babesia and bartonella as well as Lyme...I believe parasitic and bacterial infections are an underlying problem for most of us...It takes different abx for different infections. And it takes a LONG time to get the heavy loads down...I suspect we may have many viruses as well...Is one the "smoking gun" over the other. Think it's too early to tell.
