Hi ,

When I first started having pain in my ears my doctor said some

studies show that people with fibro get the ear pain but it was

inconclusive. I would see a doctor and have it checked out for sure.

Hi

When I had all my jaw problems, pain in my ears was one of the symptoms. In

fact, whenever I have a flare-up now it starts with pain in one particular

tooth and pain in that same ear.

You brought back a nightmare that happened about 5 yrs ago. I had

wasn't causing the pain, but TMJ. Tawny

i make an appt to go get it checked out, it is gone.

Tawny:

somehow it does not seem so bad when you know you are

not alone and someone is going thru the same things

you are or worse.

The day started off with aches and pains but a long

hot shower helped alot. It is easier at work today as

the boss took the day off and I can work at my own

pace without any interruptions...........

We have had a week of 100 or more so I am ready for

some cooler weather too.........I work in air

conditioning all day and I hate that more than the

heat..........I am always trying to keep warm......

I have been swimming almost everyday so that has

helped me feel better I am sure..........I thank God

for some good friends who invite me to go swimming

with them

Hopefully you will be feeling better and have a good

weekend............write if you need to vent about

Pat,

I hate mornings!! I use to love to get up early in the morning,

start my day out with a nice walk. I am so stiff when I get up, and

it just last through the day. I try to make sure all my appointments

are in the afternoon, I can move better then.

I am glad work is easier today, nice the boss took off:)

This weather is really bad. I'm ready for a little cooler weather.

The fall doesn't last long here, and then here comes the COLD, we

just can't win:(

That is nice that your getting some water exercise. I would love

that, but not possible right now. Still dreamin' of that hot tub with

my name on it, just haven't found it yet.

You have a great day, and a better weekend, Tawny

Hi Cmler's,

I suffered 7 years while on Gleevec, with severe earaches, swelling in the

cheeks, vertigo, water

dripping out of my ears, and deafness. In those 7 years most of the side-effects

were getting worst. I had

severe neck pain which would shoot up through my neck, from the ears, and have

severe migrating headaches which were so terrible, I had to hire drivers to take

me grocery shopping, and had several bouts of vertigo, which I was unable to

take care of my kids. I took several letters from a local Cml support group to

5 different Ears, Nose, & Throat Physicians. Of these E.N.T's, they had ordered

C.T. Brain Scan,

which showed nothing, C.T. Ear scans which should bacterial infections, or a

cessation pool of water stuck

in my ear, and could not drain. All thought the water was from showers? (Even

though I would explain it came from the Leukemia medication).

All gave antibiotics which fall in the families of quinolones. According to

Internet, and several areas of

how they treat bacterial infections were with these classifications of

antibiotics. Cipro causes

tendon problems such as ones foot arches, to fail. Cipro in drops or tablets

may also cause re-occurring

bacterial infections which prolong, and causes the severe pain in the ears.

Depending which side

of your body you sleep on, you experience the worst. In one research paper,

Cipro does not only continue to compromise and leave one with no hope, but it

also causes the vertigo, upon usage. Levinquin causes

cancer-anorexia, which leaves the body totally depleted of minerals and

vitamins. Moxifloxcian causes

ligament damages to ones thighs, and hands, so where does that leave a CMLER?

Finally, I got fed up with all E.N.T's and took a chance on making a visit to a

well known Acupuncturist, who was in my area, and within driving distances. She

also had an M.D. License. In less than 6 months, and on Asian herbs, which were

called: tea pills my ears no longer hurt, and they have no more fluids from

Gleevec, they are very clear and dry. No more pain, edema, and or inflammation.

However, I learned several things about myself, such as to not consume any dairy

or the ears felt worst, and had more inflammation in them. I also learned that

any gluten upon consumption would clog the ears so I would have only a minimum

to hear, with. I could not hear most people speak, and suffered a social life

as a result. I started to take food enzymes, as well as change of diet, within

4 months, I started to feel

more energy to do things at my families request, less pain, and today I feel

GREAT!!!

I was amazed how well Acupuncture, can heal most discomforts associate with

Gleevec. Currently, I am

pain-free of all the strange symptoms Gleevec can cause. I will say that if

anything works without drug

interventions it would be Acupuncture, and Asian herbs for most cancer patients.

Thanks for asking, it can be a blessing and a gratifying experiences making a

visit to an Acupuncturist!

P.S. Probiotics works well too if buying the right brand.

Dor,

I can't consume any gluten either. After years of the big D, which

was blamed totally on gleevec, it was found that i have Celiac. Now,

I almost never have the big D, anemia has improved without medication,

and I have more energy Just to let you know, 1 out of 133 people have

Celiac or an allergy to gluten, most don't even know it. for years y

body was not absorbing many nutrients, that was what caused the anemia

and vit D deficiency. glad that the acupuncturist has been able to

help and found that gluten was a factor.

Hi Ivan,

When you were dx, the ear ache might have been from a high cell count (whites,

platelets) because they have a hard time getting through the tiny vessels in the

ear.

Now, it might be from some edema in that area, as others have said. I used to

have it on Gleevec (have less swelling on Sprycel) and I would use a mild

diuretic (diazide) for a couple days when it occurred.

C.
