Guest guest
Hi Debi, On my Mom's side, every woman (all15) have been diagnosed with RA, OA, MS or asthma (in most cases at least 2 of those 4 illnesses). My Mom had rheumatic fever when she was a child. On my Dad's side, all the men have had heart problems and all the women that have died have died of a cancer. Personally, I have tested positive for HLA-B27, a genetic mutation common in people with Reactive arthritis and other spondalathrophies. No one knows exactly what causes a positive B27 marker. The best theory I've heard is that my Dad has psoriasis (B7 marker) and my Mom has RA (B13 marker) & together they mutated to cause the B27 marker. It's all a theory, though. Take care, in VA~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ >BTW, I went to an autism seminar a few weeks ago and it was stated >that those with autism often have a history of RA in their families. >Anyone else have the common conditions in their families? > >Debi Add photos to your e-mail with MSN 8.
