Guest guest
Dear , What great news!!!. I am so happy for . It's great to hear he is doing so well. We had a similar experience with Bobby. We went Trick or treating with his cousins some older and some younger. Not only was he saying Trick or treat but thanks to his older cousins he would say smell my feet and then laugh. We all did. It was a great night. Your right what a difference a year can make. So, So Happy for you!!! Guest guest
Congratulations, . Seems like you have CML under control. We are all at different places in the disease, yet we move on. It would be wonderful if we all reached that level, but we now know a small setback is not a major thing in our lives. Then there are the ones who have never been CCR and still kicking, although I have to admit, not very high. I met a woman in New Orleans last night who was bald from chemo, seems it was her second bout with CLL. I asked if she was in a support group and she said she wasn't. Her husband is suffering from cancer in his hip and she has to take care of him and herself. She said she never was sick from the chemo, only lost her hair, so she wasn't complaining. A few seats down, I woman said her father in law had CML and was on Gleevec. Before I left, I heard her say she was from the same city as me. It was so late and we were so exhausted that I didn't go and talk to her, but I honestly don't know anyone in my city with CML. When LLS has a luncheon, they invite everyone with any kind of cancer, because there are so few patients with CML. I am always the only one there with CML. When I was in the hospital at Christmas time the social worker came and spoke with me and asked if I was interested in starting a group. I said yes, but I had c-difficile at the time and kept the same nausea and stomach pains until recently, so I have make an effort to speak to her. I would try to get anyone with a blood disease come on board, otherwise we would have an empty room. Keep on keeping on, . See how everyone gets excited when that happens? Guest guest
LOL I used to do kefir until the grains threatened to eat me in my sleep. But Kandy, , and Beth all do kefir and I now do counter-top milk cultures (a LOT easier to handle) and kombucha (which Peggy and Kim do as well). We like to culture on this list! Yeah Everyone was having a Sunday morning dessert (a family tradition) like coffee cake etc. Well, I am not eating sweets, so took kefir, homemade, 1 whole orange, 1 banana and some ice. Real yummy. No added sugar. I use to make kefir, but got out of the habit, but I got new kefir grains from my daughter this weekend. Makes a good nutritious base for the smoothie.
