This is one of those urban legends that have been around the internet for

years.

Just last week the news was talking about needing to list your phones on the do

not call list. Because theCell numbers were going public.

Was not aware of an Urban legend

I looked it up on Snopes Zavie it does say an urban legend and I really did hear

it on the news last week about needing to call. So guess the news was wrong

again.

The cell phone numbers are going to a single cell phone directory service,

but not to telemarketers. They are supposed to be making it impossible for

the telemarketers to just upload the directory. There is some truth to the

" legend " but it is not the conspiracy that has been talked about. It is a

united effort of the major cell phone companies to provide a directory.

Placing your number on the national do not call list is a good idea anyway.

However, it is not fool proof, I still get a lot of calls, including auto

dialed calls which are illegal.
