Guest guest
Hi, It's and I am back to thank those of you who prayed for me in my time of hardship. It's only been a month, yet, I feel like I was just talking to my mother yesterday; when I went to see her the Sunday before she passed. As for my younger son, he is under outpatient mental health. I call him every night just to let him know I love him and I will support him with the divorce he decided he get. I did find out why he was suicidal. They had only been married two months and he found her with someone else in HIS bed. I would have been just as outraged as he was and still is. I am glad that he is making life worth living, without her. Now all I have to do is try and get my health back. This has taken it's toll on me and I am in so much pain it's not funny. On top of that, I am having a flare-up of SLE, and it has my immune system so bad both of my DR.s want me in hospital. I can't though. I am helping my step-father get through with taking care of my mother's things. My one sister who lives next door won't lift a finger to help unless there is something in it for her, so i told her to leave him be, I'll help him through this. Well this is getting long and I am itching like crazy, time for another cold shower and Benadryl. Thank you again for your support.
Guest guest
hello Barbara. you certainly do have a problem. i don't envy your situation, as i know it must be very dificult for you to be/feel dependant so much. the only thing i have found that keeps my head above water, so to speak, is to watch what i eat. good healthy junk free meals can make a terrific difference. i found that what helps me is to stop eating sugars, dairy, red meats, fats (i use olive oil), no carbonated drinks, potato chips and other fried foods, no white flour and soaking my beans and rice enough to soften them and allow the enzyme blockers to neutralize. (all grains have enzyme blockers so that they can keep from sproutiing until the right conditions occur.) Also for the time being, i don't eat the Night shade family of plants like tomatoes, peppers (except for cayene), as they are said to be contraindicated for people with RA. that may be wrong but i've read it in several articles and don't want to take a chance. te worst flare i ever had was after eating soup with a lot of tomato sauce in it for several weeks on end. i eat a lot of vegetables and fruits and organic soy non geneticaly engineered and Kosher, but think i will stop that and go to almond milk for a while. i eat only whole grain cereals and eat my beans with rice for a more complete protien and also have an organic, raw egg with a formula i use containing a number of dried green herbs, garlic and algea and think it is helping me. i am 75+ and have had symptoms for several decades but not RX'd til 5 years ago when had the big flare-up that really laid me low for awhile. couldn't touch anythiing, had to have a new seat on commode so i could get up from it, couldn't drive.....could have been worse, but it was bad enough. I am fairly functional now, but the change on my eating habits are what has helped me most.. i am now taking 10 mg of prednisone and plaquanil so thnk that is pretty good. Dr getting Humiran for me as the hands are progressing to deformity as well as the other pains, but could be, as you well know, a lot worse!. i get worse when i get off my vegetable/fruit regemen. been eating a lot of garlic, too. i wish i could be of some help to you, but i can only tell you what has helped me and you can choose for yourself if you want to try it. i will try anything to get better! i have even given up cheese and that, to me, was the ultimate surrender! ok.. i go now.. hope you find something that will be of help to you. love.. granny lee ----- Original Message ----- From: reillylady Rheumatoid Arthritis Hello everyone,My name is Barbara and I am 57 years old. I have had RA since I was 18 and on and off over the years until I got blood poisoning when I was 45 and since then I have had continual pain. I am in a wheelchair and have been homebound for over a year and a half. I am greatly over weight - I have gained 50 pounds in the year and a half. I am confined to a wheechair. I cannot even exercise with hand weights due to the pain in my arms, hands and neck. I have pain from my neck down to my toes. I also tried ankle weights and also cannot use them do to the pain. ..
