Guest guest
Hi  I am 29 and have been on Gleevec for almost 6 years now. The first winter was the worst, the leg pain was so bad I had to take pain killers just to function I couldn't even sleep, without pain killers or sleep aid. This is my 5th winter since being DX, and let me tell you it gets sooo much better. I don't have to take anything, it does still hurt a little, but nothing that cant be handled. I feel like I cant go to the dentist now, without needing a filing or a crown, don't know if I can blame that on the Gleevec, I have also needed glasses, since then but for driving only, no big deal small price to pay for being alive. The tiredness unfortunately never went away for me, I cant sit on the couch for more then 1/2 hour without falling asleep, we I do go to sleep and I'm OUT, and I wake up tired. But I still work a full time job, out of the house by 7:30 and don't get home till about 6:00, and when I get home, dinner, dishes, and all the fun everyday life. But again, I am alive, I got married in 2006, and unfortunately we have hit a little bump in the road, for children, but everything happens for a reason. Hope this helps. DX 11/2003 343,000 WBC  Hi everyone! Its , I have a question... I have been on Gleevec for a week now and boy to I feel like crap. No energy, tired all of the time, and now my teeth and gums are hurting.... I don't have any cavities.... Basically I feel like I have the flu all the time. My legs hurt, head, teeth now, tired etc.... Those of you that have been on it have you experienced the same thing? I know you guys told me that in 30 days my body should adjust.... That's good news. Now I am hearing about bleeding eyes! I'm a young man (27) Is this all stuff I should be looking forward too? Thanks guys! Love you all!
