Guest guest
I had my appt yesterday to check my bloodwork and get another Procrit shot. The nurse did my bloodwork and then told me I was done. (I had to remind them about the Procrit shot) Lovely. They had me wait for the blood work results. My hemoglobin went from 5.8 to 7.1. And my wbc count went from 1.9 to 3.4. The nurse showed everything to my Dr. and he said that they had to call the company that makes Gleevec and ask them if it is possible to lower my dosage. HUH? The nurse told me that they would call me that afternoon to let me know what is going on. I got a voicemail from them right as the office was closing to tell me that they called the company and the company faxed them a form to fill out and they won't know anything else until Monday. So here I am still not taking anything for the CML. I feel like screaming. If this Dr. wasn't prepared to treat me then he should have referred me to someone who can. This is the 2nd time during my treatment that he has had to call the company. I am obviously very frustruated. I have an appt on the 21st with a Dr. at Northwestern in Chicago. I really wish my appointment wasn't so far off.
