Guest guest
Hello all, I was in Iowa caring for my dad who is aged and ill. He flew back today to Arizona and my husband and I drove a 24 hour over-nighter to get his dog and car here before he got here. He has valley fever, congestive heart failure, polymyocitis, and high blood pressure and a number of health issues that I fear he is not long for the world. God help us if he gets the flu. I believe this time of uncertainty has really stressed me out and I am having incredible side effects on the tasigna, to the point where I am on a break. I have been off for two weeks this coming Friday. The oncologist wants me to consult with Mayo Clinic or U of A in Tucson because I am intolerable with the drugs but I told him, I wanted a consult with Cortez in MD first because those other two places don't know anything about CML. We will see what he says. I would suspect that when the stress cuts down the side effects will too. At this point, the muscle cramps in feet and hands are debilitating at times, the insomnia is awful, the joint and back pain is bad, the rash on my legs and in my head is really bad, and although I am using topical steroids, I am still a mess. I am hoping the time now will slow down in stress levels and I can once again tolerate the tasigna. We will see. Hugs to all, Barb
