Guest guest
I know that my Lupus was from ongoing UTI's. I had them for 3 years before my first symptoms started. I can tell that I still have one, but it is much better. I am able to control it with Biaxin. --- cooky <cooky1@...> wrote: > There has been a lot about urinary tract problems > lately so I thought I > would let you all know that I was always getting > UTI's and I even had a > hysterectomy because the doctors felt that the > reason I was getting up > all night (about4 times a night) to urinate was > because I had a large > fibroid pressing on my bladder. Guest guest
Dear Cooky, thanks for those words of encouragement. I know mine was yeast for years and years. Went through dilation, silver nitrate treatments etc. etc. like you. Ended up on Nizoral for years. Have only had to do the nizoral once now in one year so know things are better. And that makes sense that if the stream is thin (mine gets so thin that there is not one there for days until the yeast problem gets better) that yeast is the culprit. And I never itched either. Guest guest
100% Cranberry juice concentrate. Health Food store $9. 3 Tbsp in water or other juice. Several times a day. Maybe every 2-3 hours does better with resistant UTI. It even cured a kidney infection that IV Levaquin wouldn't touch. Just thought it might help. ~S~ wrote: Weird, I got a horrendous staph UTI last week, too, killer flank pain and all. I feel for you I'm on 10 days of Levaquin but I'm pretty sure it's not working, I'm gonna have to try and talk my doc into something stronger. That's always fun. Hope yours is better
Guest guest
Sorry to hear about the UTI. The really suck!! Docs will go with the mildest antibiotic that is listed with the report they get from the lab. The report will tell them what the bug is and then what antibiotics it is sensitive to. They list the drugs in order from the mildest to the strongest. If it isn't something you go through too frequently, it's best to go with the milder drug. In my case, I've been through the milder stuff and have developed allergies to them. I've even developed an allergy to the stronger ones, so they put me in the hospital so they can give me the stronger antibiotic with large doses of IV Benadryl. Of course, by the time I seek medical help I typically end up in the hospital!! Don't let that happen to you!! I hope this clears up for you soon. Take care. Hugs & prayers, marina > > Arrggghhhh! Guest guest
I worked in a nursding home once where one of the nurses gave all of her patients cranberry juice in in am and in the pm. Every day, for a month. Nursing homes usually have a lot of uti's because the cna's don't always wash their hands shen going from patient to patient. O this nurse gives cranbery juice two times a day to every one and in that month only had something lik3 uti " s instead of 12-15. And she kept it up and suddenly no uti " s. It really pays off to change the acidity of your urine. I found that after having no uti's for many years sine being diagnosed 2 years ago.........I have 2-3 a year!!...yup....getting cranbery juice asap!!! >
Guest guest
Yes, a UTI would show up on medication. I would recommend have a urinalysis and a culture & sensitiy. If anything grows that is an infection, the sensiivity part is when they test it against antibiotics-it all takes 48 hours with the lab. If your dr only did a urinaysis and everything looked fine and that's why he said you don't have an infection try to get him/her to send a specimen to the lab for the c & s. Hope I helped. -- [low dose naltrexone] UTI I need some help. If you are taking a medication like Urex that is suppose to help prevent getting UTI's (urinary tract infection), will a UTI still show up in lab test if your on the medication? I think I have a UTI, but my urologist said no and increased my Ditropan. I think my systems are being masked or am I getting worse?

Guest guest
I went to a female urologist and she was great. Understood the problem better than the male doctors. Guest guest
Will water from green coconuts help with my UTI? I think I am seeing a faint hint of blood when I dab but the urine looks a bit cloudy and the cramps are getting worst. If this continues I may have to go to the doctor for medication, *sigh* __________________________________________________
Guest guest
If you go to the doctor, make sure they test for bacteria first. They can do that in the office. A friend of mine once had a horrible problem with UTI, including blood in the urine. She had been on repeated antibiotics and it either didn't work or came back right away. When they finally tested they found no bacteria. Finally one doctor diagnosed fungal infection put her on diflucan, end of problem. So you might want to make sure that bacteria is really your problem before taking an antibiotic. Irene At 08:26 AM 11/7/2007, you wrote: >Will water from green coconuts help with my UTI? Guest guest
, I don't remember your first post about this but I was just wondering if you have just started or changed antifungals. When I started Nystatin quite afew years ago I got a UTI from die off. I had never had one before in my life. But I had noticed before starting a diet or anything that my urine flow was differnt sometimes. It was weaker/ slower. But then the first day on Nystatin my die off started and I had the UTI symptoms for a week or two. They went away. THe only thing I did was kept on the Nystatin and drank cranberry juice ( I didn't know better then). I had the bloody tinged urine and all. Anyway I belive there are some supplements based on cranberry that may help. Hope you feel better soon. Donna in Indy > > Will water from green coconuts help with my UTI? Guest guest
I would just add, like some of the other post have said on this subject, instead of using a cranberry supplement, check out the file " C) Women's Health Issues & Treatments " and read up on UTI treatments. It outlines great alternatives, that work well, like parsley tea. t > > > > Will water from green coconuts help with my UTI? Guest guest
I used nettle leaf tea to cure mine, but I had to drink MEGA amounts. I just put 2 Tblspoons of nettle leaf in with one bottle of water and boil it for a few minutes and let it sit. I thought I would hate the taste, but it is actually quite good. I also sometimes mixed pau d'arco in with it, too. Good luck, I know it hurts, and take care. Continue drinking 4 cups of parsley a day, plus diet plus supplements. No antibiotic is as good as nature's remedies and they have no side effects. All antibiotics are poisonous to the body. Guest guest
Jane, a teaspoon of d-mannose three times in a day may clear the UTI. You'll know in a day and perhaps save major $$ on a naturopath's visit. Cranberry juice only contains small amounts of this " medicinal " sugar. Duncan > > Thanks to Duncan, whey, inulin and hydrochloric acid and strict diet, mostly of veggies and unsweetened cranberry juice and water (except one week at Thanksgiving when I varied a little) I have done with most of my symptoms except for a feeling that I have been kicked in the groin that is not alleviated by antibiotics. I've gotten the names of a gynecologist and a urologist from my conventional doctor, but I wonder if any one knows a good naturepath I could consult. I live on the North Shore of LI. > > > Jane T. > > > > >
Guest guest
What bacteria is it? I assumed they cultured it and gave you a specific diagnosis, so you know which abx it responds to. This is very serious. What does your doctor say? Has he referred you to specialists? Have you been taking Colostrum to boost your immune system? What else are you doing for your immune system? ---polly polygonum
Guest guest
Dear Warriors, Do any of you have a secret to getting rid of a Urinary Tract Infection. I am allergic to most antibiotics so am hesitant to take anything without absolutely having to. The last uti was about 2 months ago and the oco said drink drink drink water to flush it through. I do the cranberry juice too. I now have another bout cooking. I am not going back to the dr because they really can't give me an antibiotic but it is miserable. If it is no better by tomorrow, I'll call the ono and he will tell me to go to my pcp who I was just at for a blood pressure check. I get tired of spending my days sitting in a doctors office waiting waiting waiting. To top that off in Wisconsin anyone who comes in with a cough has to put a mask on. I feel like I am sitting in a third world waiting room. If I sound down I guess I am. Carolyn_Kuptz2000@... dx 11-

Guest guest
This is what I found about D-Mannose http://store.wellnesspartners.com/UTI_Slip_D_Mannose_Powder_p/1261-89.htm Special Note to Diabetics: D-Mannose is a simple sugar. Simple sugars are made up of only one or two molecules and are processed so quickly in the digestive system that the pancreas does not detect them as a sugar that requires insulin for it to be absorbed into the blood stream. It should not affect your blood sugar level, though you should continue to monitor the glucose levels in your blood while taking this product, just to be sure.
