Welcome Phil

Glad to have you on our site.

My sisters husband lives in White Pines

Is that anywhere near Salisbury?

Subject: [ ] Hello and a big thank you

I've only just discovered this site having mainly hung out on the LLS forums

since my dx in Feb of this year. As with many of us I have become something

of a Leukaemia geek since then, reading everything in sight and generally

putting myself through Haemetology 101.

I'm 43, married with 2 young sons, live near Salisbury in the UK and have

been on 400mg Glivec since diagnosis with thankfully not too many side

effects other than fatigue and the usual gastric issues.

PCR was 40% at dx, 8% at 3 months, 0.065% at 6 months - classed as MMR by

the lab (yippee!)

In all the reading I've done just about the most uplifting thing I have

found (apart maybe from the good news coming out of the Ariad trial!) has

been Zavvie and his Zero club - so as soon as I got my results I dropped him

a line to apply for my number - which is how I found out about this site.

Postings on the various forums naturally tend to concentrate on people who

are having poor responses or particularly bad side-effects and it is so

important to celebrate the good news too, especially for those starting out

on their CML journeys. Zavvie does such a wonderful job of this and I

consider myself honoured to be part of his club. Thank you.

you? :@)

I am sorry.

But I am still very happy that you are with us.
