Guest guest
wow....the e-mails just keep coming. thanks so vey very much. this is gonna sound a little odd but i just assumed everyone on gleevec had the same problems to the same degree i was having. i had just resigned myself to that fact. what a surprise to find out people can have less nausea and less bone pain. i got so worried when i saw my iron had dropped so far. it truly was my iron. i then knew why i was so tired. i will try the tricks people have been giving to me and let you know how they work. part of my problem with a big meal is that i had bariatric surgery several years ago. i dropped all the weight but it left me very prone to all sorts of anemias. ah well if i knew then what i know now. well like always we pick up and go on. i do have a couple of questions. when i say i'm tired i mean there is nothing left to give. is that normal for this dx and treatment? what do you do, what are the tricks? i take b12 injections at home but it seems minimal as far as helping with the fatigue. i have been placed on full disability and for this i am grateful. i don't know what i would do if i had to work a ten or twelve hour shift. i truly pitty anyone who has to. well....thanks again mel
Guest guest
Hi, can you drink milk? sometimes just a sandwich and a glass of milk will do the trick, and only half a dose. I think there is a web site, Lottie and Tracey and Zavie will know, that will give you the ins and outs of taking Gleevec, and what you can and cannot do. I do remember I was told do not lie down for at least half an hour. As for tired? yes, you surely do get bone tired, exhausted, and I just took lots of naps. You will adjust to this, it just takes time and you will learn to just do what you can and don't push yourself. Taking meds, and napping, and even feeling crappy is better than the alternative, as said, " a dirt nap.!
