Guest guest
Hi , I'm new to the group. I was diagnosed with CML on 13th of Oct 2009. Being back then 22 weeks pregnant (26 now) I was only offered a leaukapheresis treatment (http://onephotographaday.wordpress.com/2009/10/21/leukapheresis/). At the beginning doctors were saying I will have to have an early emergency cesarean, which scared me to death as they said it will have to be performed pre 30 weeks so I can start gleevec. I definitely said no to cesarean and I'm refusing interferon injections they were offering along with leaukapheresis . In fact, if possible, I will want to stay away from drugs as long as possible after the baby is born (due on 11 Feb 2010) to be able to breastfeed, ideally for at least 6 months. Just knowing there is another woman who has CML and was pregnant and the baby is fine is so comforting for me. I can't even express how happy I am for you though I don't know you and this is the first time I've ever heard about you . Congratulations! This is the best news I've heard since diagnosis. > > She's here! Isabella Rosemary Jaromin - 7 lbs, 2 oz. 20 inches long, born 11/6/09. She's perfect in every way. Guest guest
Congratulations & little Isabella. I too love her name. I had a great aunt with the same name - it's an old name that is coming back and I am so glad, it's beautiful. You will be an inspiration to all those new mothers with CML!!! God Bless, Jackie S. Guest guest
Congratulations on your new baby! And I LOVE her middle name(because it's my first name!). I am wondering why you chose Rosemary since it is such an uncommon name these days. I'll bet she is beautiful.....Rosemary Cohen from Oregon From: lunaemica@... Guest guest
Congratulations, ! I love hearing baby stories as I want to have children very much. I look forward to one day there being enough evidence for my doctors to give the okay. They say I cannot, even though I have been in remission for 4 and a half years. I would do it anyway, but my husband wants the doctor's okay and I don't want to do it unless my husband approves. I think my doctor's don't have much experience with young women on Gleevec (and I have seen half a dozen). Lindy > > She's here! Isabella Rosemary Jaromin - 7 lbs, 2 oz. 20 inches long, born 11/6/09. Guest guest
Hello Lindy  I hope to one day to also be able to have a child. My doctor still says absolutely not, and I was diagnosed 6 years ago tomorrow. My husband also does not want me to do it, he says the risk is to high. We are also looking into possible surrogate, but the the charge for this procedure is ridiculous.  --- On Mon, 11/23/09, bright_emerald_angel <bright_emerald_angel@...> wrote: From: bright_emerald_angel <bright_emerald_angel@...> Subject: [ ] Re: Isabella is born!
