HI, LET ME EXPLAIN ABOUT THE PAINFUL PROCEDURE.  WHILE I WAS IN AGONY, MY DR.

CAME IN AND SAID, " GEE,IT IS A SIMPLE PROCEDURE, I DON'T KNOW WHY IT HURT?! "

OF COURSE, HE HAD NEVER HAD ONE DONE, AND I BET THE DR. THAT DID THE PROCEDURE

DID NOT EITHER.  THE NEEDLE GOING IN WAS NOT PAINFUL, AND I THOUGHT THAT WOULD

BE THE KILLER.  WAS HURT WAS, THE MORE FLUID THEY DRAINED, AND THEY DRAINED 1

1/2 LITERS, THE MORE THE BODY HURT. I DO NOT KNOW WHY.  AND AS I RECALL THE PAIN

IN THE CHEST LASTED WEEKS AFTER THE PROCEDURE. I DON'T LIKE TO EXPOUND ON

PAINFUL PROCEDURES LEST SOMEONE READING IS DUE FOR ONE?  BUT WHAT HURTS ONE, I

GUESS DOES NOT ALWAYS HURT EVERYONE.

ANYWAY, LOTTIE, IF I'VE SCARED YOU, SORRY, OLE BUDDY, BOBBY

Dear Beth and Bobby,

Congratulations on your " report card " . We may soon have quintuplets on your

new drug, Ariad. If my doctor decides that the SKI is causing my pleural

effusions, I may well join the ranks of you, Jackie and Len. That would call

for a celebration, since I have already met Len, Jackie and Bobby. My

pulmonologist is already talking about draining my lungs, but I want him to

confer with MDACC first, as he is not aware that the SKI could be the culprit.

I remember Bobby talking about how painful the procedsuyre was. Y'all keep in

keeping on, we always need someone to cheer on.

Hands & hearts,

Lottie Duthu
