Guest guest
I am sure all of us are concerned about having our safety nets taken away. That goes to show how politicians feel about us as a people - not worth too much, we are more of a burden. I think everyone should be scared when the government run by a few people can more or less pass out death sentences to a few who have less power. There must be something we can do as a group, they are not listening to a few voices. If we are dead, we can't vote, right? Here in the US, the government is recommending less and later breast exams and no self-exams. Now they are recommending pap smears for your later years. Some of these cancers can be very aggressive, even at a young age. If you discover a lump in your breast, how do you know what kind and the extent of progression? You may have heard about the backlash from citizens as well as physicians who disagree with that theory that they wouldn't save that many lives and they would certainly be saving money by having fewer tests to pay for. The insurance companies must be gloating and clapping. As for the shingles vaccine, I would pass it by my oncologist before making a decision. Bobby is right, wait until she talks to Dr. Talpaz. He also told me not to get the vaccine. I was wondering - if shingles is caused by having had chicken pox in our earlier years, would the shingles shots be the same as chicken pox shots they are giving youngsters these days? Seems like the genetic base would be the same to me. What say you? Hearts & hands, Lottie Duthu
