Guest guest
Dear Jackie, While we have often heard the terms " revenge is sweet " , I totally agree with my buddy, Bobby. We can't live in the past, only in the present and it's time to try and make your own life as pressure free as possible. When we make our bed, we lie in it. I believe in forgiveness, but I don't think that in forgiving someone we have to forget. Remembering just makes us smarter. Cover your own backside and take care of yourself first. If you have any time left over, share it with the MIL. I don't know how my MIL would have reacted to my diagnosis, but I somehow feel she could not let herself feel anything for anyone but herself. I used to call her Heartburn when I spoke of her, but not to her. She never got anything but respect from me, which was not reciprocated. She never accepted me as a DIL, but I always respected her as my husband's mother (not that I relished the idea), but my husband took up for me always in everything. She had to tread very softly while ignoring me, because she would have had to deal with him. I hope you can tolerate the Tasigna and thrive on it so you can get back to living. Sooner or later after diagnosis, we have to get back to living even with limitations, or lag behind. I don't consider your post as whining, it's an entitlement when you have CML.
