Guest guest
Dear Zavie, I keep in touch with Skip and I knew he was off all meds for the time being. What a bastion of faith that man is. He knows he is our hero and is a very temperant, self-disciplined person. To Leigh in wet London, I hope you have not been flooded out. Gosh, that has not happened in 100 years. Don't tell Al Gore about it, he will be up there with his junk science and blame it all on emissions and carbon footprints. Wonder if he has measured his lately with his big jet he uses to cruise around in. To Margie Nance, welcome to the group. Sometimes a patient cannot tolerate one drug and is switched to another. Sometimes you have to stop and start again at a lower dose. We are all different in the way we absorb drugs. Good luck and sending you an invitation to ask questions, there is always someone who will have experienced something similiar. Sometimes we have to change doctors, as well, so if you are dissatisfied with your doctor, you can always switch, there are no hard and fast rules about sticking to the same doctor who does not meet with your approval, or has your best interest at hard. Yes, you will find that some doctors pay less attention to you if your disease is rare because they don't know that much about it and haven't done any research on it. Try to find a CML specialist as your main CML doctor and an oncologist to do your blood work if you have to travel to see a specialist. If you live in the same city as your specialist, then you have hit pay dirt and won't need to see an oncologist. This is how I have done it for the past 10 years, just remember you come first.
