Hello,

My name is Margie Nance and I am new to the group and pretty new to the

world of CML. I was diagnosed in Sept of this year. It has taken me a few

months to venture out into the internet to learn more about this disease.

That's how I found this group.

I am currently on Gleevec and was taken off of it for two weeks due to a

round with the flu and extremely low white cell count. I'm back on it again

and still having peaks and crashes with test results. My doc says not to

worry at this point. Just need to find the right dosage. I hope to learn more

about the drugs, treatments and side effects from those who have been

battling this for awhile. I'm glad to have found you all.

Hi Margie: So glad to have you join our group. That probably sounds weird

being its a group for Leukemia Patients. When you first join, you do not know

what to expect. Your so new to all of this, and we have quite a few new people

who have joined in the past few months.

We share so much,so we can get to know each other better.

As you read the posts, you will see that a lot of us have been fighting this

battle for many years. We have some real oldies on here, and it will be 11

years for me on Dec. 12th.

Just keep in mind that treatment has come a long way since the late 90's. Hope

to continue to hear from you.

Hi ,

Welcome to the club that nobody really wants to be a member of.

I was wondering how low your WBC dropped to and did all your other counts

remain stable.

The normal dose of Gleevec is 400 mg daily. Any change at this early stage

should only be done by a CML expert. Do you know if he did a serum level

test to determine if the dose needs to be altered?

You have come to the right CML site to get answers to your CML questions.

I tried to get on to your Caringbridge site but the link didn't work.
