Guest guest
: If you have no confidence in your specialist, make some inquiries of your friends, and maybe they can come up with a recommendation for a specialist that's worth checking out. There must be lots of competent RA specialists in New York. Good luck. It has not only been raining here, but terrible wind and lightning, along with scattered tornados. It affects my joints, too, when weather has such violent changes. I know we used to laugh at my grandmother who could tell the change of weather by her knee joints...now I know she wasn't kidding, and the reason she was always right. Being in pain and not being able to sleep is a bummer that no one can bear for a very long time. I sincerely feel for you. I have been weaning off of prednisone for about six months, and now for two weeks and 2 days I have had none at all, with no trouble so far. Now I am only taking Methotrexate once a week, and Arava daily. This is going to be my treatment plan from now on...and far less side effects. The prednisone is a godsend for flair-ups, but my doctor doesn't want me on it for long. Well, this is beginning to ramble, so I wish for you a much better and brighter day, my friend.
