Hi Pam,

One of the very first places that I had pain was the first joint of the middle finger of my right hand, it is not any longer painful, but the joint is enlarged, the left hand did not seem to be affected. I have always been a little strange, so maybe it is just me.

Cheers,

Becky in AZ

Subject: finger joints

From what I have read, the finger joints closest to the fingernails are not usually affected by RA. Does anyone have problems with these particular joints? I was just wondering how true this is. Thanks so much.Pam P.

I am proof that it can be in the joints by the fingertips.

Right now I can hardly type because the joints closet to my fingernails are red, very swollen and painful...I just saw my GP today and he gave me naproxen..He said it was a "flare" which is just what I thought.. I was diagnosed 2 years ago with RA.. but I've been managing quite well on no meds because my RA is in the early stages, Itake half of a tylenol number 3 and two 500mg ,, morning, noon and night-that has been working for me as far as controlling the pain. ------Original Message-------
