Guest guest
Kelli and list mates, The 1/2 life of DMSA/Chemet in kids is 3 hours + or - 0.2hours and in adults 1.9hours + or - 0.4 hours. See J Pediatr. 1994, Aug: 125 (2): 233-4 Pharmacokinetics of Meso-2, 3-dimercaptosuccinic acid acid in Patients with lead poisoning and in healthy adults. I'm considering a long-term, very low dose of DMSA as we sauna but am concerned about depleting too many minerals or chelating minerals instead of metals. Would be interesting if we could get an idea of how long minerals stay in the bloodstream after ingested so we could time the DMSA dose to pull metals rather than minerals. Have you done any urine tests during chelation that checks for both toxic metals and the essential minerals DMSA tends to bind to as well? That might be worth looking at to see if you see more essentials than toxins. Gaylen
Guest guest
Gaylen, Why not test periodically to see what effects the constant, low-dose chelation is having on the nutritional elements as well as the toxic ones? It would be interesting to find out, don't you think? I'm going to talk to my doc about it this week to see what he thinks. Gaylen
Guest guest
Does it mean that adults have to take DMSA every 4 hours and children can take DMSA only every 6?
