Guest guest
> I may go for that laser corrective vision procedure I think it's great when you can give yourself the birthday present you want. I haven't had the surgery done, but I've heard of people getting it done. It seems that people that have severe myopia (ie less than -5) respond best to the treatment. However, I'm wondering if you have started having trouble reading (forgive my english, but I don't know what that is called exactly in english, in french we call it " presbyte " ). If you have started having this problem, then your myopia might correct itself. You can always go in fot a consultation (they are usually free) and ask all the questions you need to before making your decision. Janick who would love to get that surgery if I ever build up the nerve!

Guest guest
Barb, My Mom, Dad, sister, Aunt and cousin have all had this done and they love it. They think it is great not having to wear contacts anymore. They all had very very bad eye-sight. The couldn't even read the big E on the chart. My parents still have to wear their reading glasses though. I hope this helps. Jen who is very thankful she didn't get the " bad sight " gene --- Horsemom2@... wrote: > > I'm seriously considering doing a very dramatic > thing for myself for my > birthday next month and would love feedback on it. > I may go for that laser corrective vision procedure > Next to losing weight, my fondest wish as far as > physical improvement has > been to see without glasses (or contact lens which I > no longer use) > > Barb > who would like to hear any good and bad experiences > folks have had to help > push me one way or the other > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > " We are all athletes in training for life rather > than overweight folks trying to drop some pounds > temporarily cuz Haste doe not make a Waist " >
Guest guest
Barb-Go for it! Even though I've personally never had it done, a good friend of mine did when they first started doing this procedure. Jill's procedure turned out great! Guest guest
Barb, if you get the OK from a trust worthy eye doctor (I suggest an MD just to be sure), I'd say go for it. I was told in January that I was a good candidate and was all ready to do it, but my husband, a physicist, is nervous about long-term problems because the procedure is so new (only 10 years old) and a visiting physicist scared him about laser surgery. I told him to learn more about his concerns and we'll revisit the issue next year. I think it is a wonderful birthday present to yourself. Elena, who has worn glasses since she was 10 and can no longer wear contacts and is afraid that she will not be shown on the feb. tapes because of her glasses. Guest guest
I have thought about doing this for my vision someday. Without glasses I am 20/200 with them I am 20/40 though and it's only far sighted that I can't see...*what's that sign say?* Re: a crazy birthday present to myself (VERY OFF TOPIC) > horsemom-@... wrote: > original article:tae-bo_on/?start=10412 > > I'm seriously considering doing a very dramatic thing for myself for > my > > birthday next month and would love feedback on it. > > I may go for that laser corrective vision procedure > > Next to losing weight, my fondest wish as far as physical improvement > has > > been to see without glasses (or contact lens which I no longer use) > > > > Barb > > who would like to hear any good and bad experiences folks have had to > help > > push me one way or the other > > I say go for it, Barb!
