Masks and Improv with Hall.... at The Gazebo at CPMC Davies campus (Castro between 14th & Duboce Sts)- South Tower, level one. Free garage parking. Complimentary snacks & beverages provided. MUNI N to Noe Street or 24 or 37 buses to Castro & 14th Streets. The room has comfy sofas is one gets tired- participate to whatever energy level you can. How do masks transform the theatrical space? How do masks transform a person? Masks can lead us to embody characters instead of 'constructing' them. No acting or improv experience necessary, just bring your face. Hall, a founder of BATS IMPROV twenty years ago, brings his extensive collection of masks (and some new ones from his trip to Italy) to this workshop. Please wear comfortable clothes for movement and sensible shoes, although the space is carpeted to kick off your Manolo Blahniks. Bio: has been creating masks and performing in them for more than 25 years. His theatre company, Fratelli Bologna performed their own style of Commedia dell 'Arte on the main stage of the Northern California Renaissance Faire for years. He has been leading mask workshops for theater professionals, corporations and students ever since. Currently he is featured on local t.v. ads for the SF Examiner squirming as a dinner date in a restaurant with a woman knowledgeable about current events. For more information about this or future improv classes, please contact the Laughingstock Volunteer Director, Ann Feehan at LaughingStock@... or look at the class schedule at www.improv.org. The program is also available to be conducted on site at other locations for closed groups and the advanced students can offer a showcase of performance in conjunction with a workshop or separately. Laughing Stock is about to start its TENTH year of free service to the community! Goldman San Francisco, CA
