Dear Harold,

thank you for posting the link to the discussion board where Humira

was discussed.

I am happy to see that it works for many people.

It doesn't seem to work for me.

Maybe because I cannot take any immuno suppressant anymore (no

methotrexate). It seems that the right combination is Humira +

Methotrexate. Maybe Humira alone is less effective.

Cecilia, unfortunately the treatment of RA is more of an art than a science. What works for one will not work for another and sometimes something that works for a while will stop working. Your rheumatologist can help you select the medicines to choose and then you need patience to see if the medicine works for you and to select the proper dose. Usually they start at a low dose to see if there are severe side effects and then increase to see if there is a benefit. It takes time (often several months) to see whether a particular medicine or combination of medicines will work for you. If one medicine fails you then you need to try another until you find the right combination. Please keep trying. Good luck and God bless.
