Jocelyn We've recently had some posts on the board regarding " classifications " at school & what a parent's/student's rights are in all that -- I'm going to see what I can find for you in my 'saved' file (I've been hanging on to some of the good info I've seen here - the problem is that there's so much of it, I have a hard time finding things anymore!!!). I do remember that some people said you have to be careful when it comes to allowing the schools to " label " your child. There are definitely certain things you want to push for, as well as ones to avoid. I'm glad you're leaning towards the 'no punishment' side. It just doesn't make sense - to me it sounds like the same as punishing a child with dyslexia every time they make a mistake reading. It does sound like the act of returning the items & apologizing was enough of a punishment. I look forward to hearing about your knew therapist & what he says. We also have a 1st time appt with a therapist this Tuesday. LT
Guest guest
Jocelyn, I agree with you on the label of " emotionally disturbed " . I don't like label at all and feel they need to come up with a better one. Sheree
