Guest guest
It's crap. Thimerosal wasn't removed from childhood vaccines or vaccines given to pregnant women in CA until 2006 and during the 2006- 2007 flu season, Thimerosal containing flu shots were given because of a " crisis " - " shortage " of Thimerosal free flu shots, yet hundreds of thousands of them were destroyed during said flu season elsewhere. , FA ~ > > I was looking to see if anyone had posted this story on here yet. Guest guest
Can anyone reference a site with the CA no from each quarter from 1999 to date? TIA, Debi > > It's crap. Guest guest
This link covers from 1999 to 2004, as the quarterly reports they offer begin in 2002: http://www.dds.ca.gov/FactsStats/RCGrowthAnalysis.cfm > > > > It's crap. Guest guest
From the same link below: " In July of 2003 there was a clarification in eligibility criteria to make it consistent with federal practice that requires evidence of substantial impairment in three domains before determining a person eligible for regional center services. An unknown is how the State's fiscal climate could have influenced intake. Additional research is required to confirm whether one, two or any of these factors are affecting caseload growth. The data also reveal that with the exception of autism, growth in all other categories of developmental disabilities has significantly declined. There is aggregate data about caseload by regional center; however, it is difficult to identify any important facts without further data analysis. This was not possible to do in the time available. Similarly, breakdowns by age group would be more useful if they included information about diagnosis, but time was a constraint. However, it is important to note that cost-containment is age based and the growth in the younger population implies greater future year costs. Other information that DDS has developed shows that most of the consumers with autism fall under the age of nineteen. Guest guest
Sorry for yet another post. This is the correct link for reports from 1999-2002: Click on the PDF titled; " 2003 Autism " . http://www.dds.ca.gov/Autism/Home.cfm > > > > > This link covers from 1999 to 2004, as the quarterly reports they offer begin in 2002: > > > > http://www.dds.ca.gov/FactsStats/RCGrowthAnalysis.cfm > > >
Guest guest
Okay, here's what I don't get: new cases of autism in CA: 1999 2355 2000 2379 2001 2912 2002 3524 2003 3429 2004 3554 How is it then that autism did not decrease as thimerosal was supposedly removed? It was begun to phase out in 1999, the rate peaked in 2002, when those kids born in 1999 were getting the age of diagnosis. However, the flu shot, when was it added, in 2002 or 2003? I can't figure out from all the forms on the 2004-present reports what new cases of autism are, but it seems like around 2005 it began going up again. This study doesn't even acknowledge that. Guest guest
What " phase out? " The conversation was just beginning. When the CA " ban " finally took effect, doctors immed asked for a reprieve. Did any of them send their stock of vaccines for destruction? I don't think so. Also, remember that " too much mercury was accidentally used " in 1999. I read it in the local paper and thought it would make big news. I can't find an online reference at all. I showed my husband the article, so I didn't imagine it. My son has autism and was born in 1999; the article caught my attention. > > > > This link covers from 1999 to 2004, as the quarterly reports they > offer begin in 2002: > > > > http://www.dds.ca.gov/FactsStats/RCGrowthAnalysis.cfm > > >
Guest guest
I believe there were batches still out there through 2/2007. With that being the case, this should be the peak. I must say that there are parents out there that are literally hunting for a diagnosis. I see kids diagnosed as "on the spectrum" now that would never have had that diagnosis before. Overdiagnosis, overzealous physicians/psychologists are inflating these numbers also. I don't know if we'll ever see the *real* figures.
