I've had a few family/friends call, " Have you heard the new study has

found the gene for autism? "

To which I have to reply, " yeah, if you think 20 kids out of 20,000

proves anything. "

Then a pregnant pause is followed by changing the subject quickly.

And add that too the fact that just because someone carries a gene,

it doesn't

Always get turned on. It is the proteins that a cell membrane allows

through

That tells a specific gene to activate or stay inactive. The gene is

not in

charge.

Genetic determinism Is an outmoded and outdated myth despite the

Of money being poured into genetic research!!!
