Is this the same thing put out by VH1? Sure sounds like it. If so, it is Autism

Speaks paying

rock stars to drain money from communities for genetic research.

I know that there are about a gazillion different autism organizations with a gazillion different acronyms. But when I hear the words 'rock autism' the little hairs on the back of my neck stand up, as it was at the Cleveland Rocks autism benefit concert of April 21 last year that I was told I would have to leave for handing out thimerosal flyers, and the cops were called and I was told I'd have to leave or face arrest. Just before Christmas I sent an email to VH1 and this is what it said: On 12/24/07 1:27 PM, "robin@..." <robin@...> wrote: You list various organizations on your website--Autism Speaks, ARI, CAN, etc. But what percentage of the money you raise will be going to each of these organizations? I have some serious issues with supporting any benefit that raises money for Autism Speaks, as the sobs tried to have me arrested for politely handing out information about thimerosal in vaccines at last years Cleveland Rocks Autism concert. This is the email I got back from: VH1 Classic Rock Autism <vh1classicrockautism@...>Hello,

and thanks for your interest in VH1 Classic. We appreciate your input

on our Rock Autism campaign, which is geared toward raising awareness

within our audience about autism in general by supporting a variety of

autism organizations and causes. We are currently rolling out

our initiative with an on-air PSA awareness campaign, and will be

looking to see what we can do to help local organizations on the ground

in the near future. Regarding partnerships, we are

currently not actively fundraising for this initiative at this time,

with the exception of donating a portion of our t-shirt sales to the

Autism Society of America. While

we will probably be working at times with groups such as Autism Speaks

in the future, we will also be supporting a variety of other autism

organizations through our efforts. Thanks for your email, and keep your eyes on VH1 Classic and www.rockautism.vh1classic.com to see what's to come in the future. I have to honestly say I don't have the foggiest notion what the email they sent me means. I am hoping that I can find out if anyone at the local ASGC meeting (that's the Autism Society of Greater Cleveland, which is under the parent organization of ASA, I do believe) knows what it means. That would be after I confront n, who is usually there at meetings, and ask her if I'll be censored from her internet chatroom, as I was censored from her Autism forum. In the meantime, I certainly won't be buying any tee shirts from VH1.Robin Nemeth

IT's funny, VH1 has us listed in top (AutismLink) of their links, but

when I call to ask them to sponsor something/anything..... I get " we

have no money. "

Isn't there something that could be done legally to stop them from

doing that? That can't be legal can it?

Interesting. Thanks for sharing this, Robin. Looks like the have more

organizations listed

now. When I checked almost a year ago, there was only AS. I'm sorry about your

experience last year at the concert. Didn't they threaten you at another Blues

event as well?

Thanks for trying to get important information out to people at events.

No. It was only at the one benefit concert, on April 21. I just sort of

fixate on that.
