Guest guest
In that ACSH publication, in Offit vs. F. Kennedy Jr. and McCarthy, all Offit has to rely on to counter what Kennedy and McCarthy had to say, were the 5 (count 'em, 5!!) US, UK, and continental European studies which were done on hundreds of thousands of children who "did or did not receive vaccines". I bet these are the same studies that the IOM relied heavily upon in their May, 2004 decision on vaccine safety. Offit makes no mention that these studies have been found to be flawed and riddled with conflicts of interest. I could be wrong, but I don't even recall these studies looking at any sizable numbers of children who were not vaccinated. Offit makes no mention of the numerous studies which do show that ethylmercury in vaccines could be a problem/toxic. A quote from Offit in "Celebrities VS. Science": "Because of the strength, consistency, size, and reproducibility of these studies, the issue of whether vaccines cause autism is no longer a scientific or medical controversy." He does not provide the links to any of these "studies", so that people could examine them for themselves and/or look up criticisms of these studies. http://www.acsh.org/docLib/20080114_Celeb_Sci.pdf Aasa searchingforserenity111 <searchingforserenity111@...> wrote: New ACSH publication to debunk folks like McCarthy.Celebrities vs. Sciencehttp://www.acsh.org/news/newsID.1669/news_detail.asp
Guest guest
Offit also serves as a " scientific advisor " for ACSH. http://www.acsh.org/news/newsID.1463/news_detail.asp I guess with faith-based medicine, there is no need for one to verify any studies - after all - THEY are the " experts " . Let's not forget that Quackwatcher Barrett is also associated with this industry front group. His name is on page 23 of 26 of this bird flu propaganda doc. http://www.acsh.org/docLib/20060309_birdflu.pdf >snip > A quote from Offit in " Celebrities VS. Guest guest
You know who else sits on ACSH besides Fred Goodwin (would-be engineer of the second eugenical Fed. Violence Initiative in the 90's. Read up on it and if you don't vomit from horror, you're not human)? Sally Satel, scary personal psychiatric hatchet wielder to the Bush administration who wrote a book, " P.C., M.D. " which is essentially a call to arms for removing healthcare activists and consumers from decision making on health and pharmaceutical policies: http://www.sallysatelmd.com/ Note the comments of praise by Whelan for Satel's book. Be afraid, be very afraid. > New ACSH publication to debunk folks like McCarthy. > Celebrities vs. Science > http://www.acsh.org/news/newsID.1669/news_detail.asp >
Guest guest
If you download the pdf for this article http://www.acsh.org/include/docFormat_list.asp?docRecNo=834 & docType=0 you'll see that the person they use to " debunk Kennedy & McCarthy is Offitt! Guest guest
Yes, Offit is the ACSH's " go to expert " for vaccine issues for that industry front group. BTW - I never posted the ACSH info. and link because I agreed with them, but simply so that people can see what that sleazy front group is up to. They also " debunked " Deidre Imus in this publication. > > > > New ACSH publication to debunk folks like McCarthy. > > Celebrities vs. Science > > http://www.acsh.org/news/newsID.1669/news_detail.asp > > >
