So there's finally a book about it.

I'm getting ready for my son's IEP for kindergarten. He was in a developmental preschool and his IEP for that was five hours. I've never had to hold so firm to the ground. Then I had to go back the next day for another hour. I gave in to many things that he really deserved and qualified for, but there were two that a wouldn't budge on. Services that he absolutely needed.

Now getting ready for kindergarten, I'm going to be ready and be so prepared. It really is like going into a battle. I'm not a very confrontational person and I don't like to be difficult, but for my son, I've had to get really strong and speak up. I can do things for him that I never thought I could.

It's really sad about schools, services, doctors, everything because it shouldn't have to be so hard. Things are hard enough, but it feels like we have to an uphill battle at every turn.
