Guest guest
Did anyone see the girl from Philly who has a daughter with Rett’s? I’m glad she made it to the next round.

Guest guest
What a wonderful, supportive network she has with family and friends. You can’t help but appreciate when you see a village like that at work. I hope she makes it far. I was curious when she said that Rett’s is similar to CP rather than autism though. She also mentioned she was fine until she was 2 and then everything went backwards. Does anyone know which gene is known to be the Rett’s gene and whether or not it’s a mutated gene? - From: EOHarm [mailto:EOHarm ] On Behalf Of BSL1229@... Guest guest
Yes I did and she was fantastic!!! She explained that it was kind of like CP but it really is under the autism umbrella. Perhaps she just said CP so lay people would understand better? Still today when I say my daughter has autism I get blank stares or they say " like Rainman? " Did you notice the girl at the end of the first day who dressed like Princess Leah? She totally seemed to be a bit Aspergers. I thought she sang pretty good though but they did not send her to Hollywood. They let the girl who had the accident and lost her eye through last night (who sounded like Janis Joplin) and I thought her singing was terrible but she was sweet and that is what got her through. But the Princess Leah girl broke my heart when she was crying in her grandparents arms saying " if you are different they don't want you " Just like what our kids go through many times. I just love this show! Guest guest
I thought the same thing about Princess Leah. She was wrong though, because they DO look for people who are different. She had some major issues (plus she couldn’t sing). I DVR’ed the show last night and FF through all the bad singers. I can’t stand watching them- because most of them are Aspies or have mental illness. I don’t like how they are mocked. The whole accident girl thing was weird. I was shocked to see they gave her a ticket. I guess the producers want them to have some colorful characters move on.
