Autism fundraiser at Rock Hall Robins Created: 1/15/2008 9:09:12 AM Updated:1/15/2008 1:23:26 PM Autism Speaks will hold a benefit at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum on April 12 as part of Autism Awareness Month. Cleveland- The theme for this year?s event is Rock Til It Stops. Stills and Stanley will perform in an effort to raise money and awareness about the disorder that affects one in 150 children in the United States. Last year, at the inaugural event, $250,000 was raised to benefit Autism Speaks? local and national campaigns. Autism is a disorder that affects the brain leading to under-developed communication and social skill. The Centers for Disease Control considers autism a ?national health crisis.? This year?s event will honor Norma Lerner, benefactor of The Lerner School for Autism at The Cleveland Clinic; co-founder of The Monarch School for Autism, Susie Ratner; and Stills, national supporters of Autism Speaks. Autism Speaks will also honor Good Company?s co-host Eileen McShea for her efforts in the fight against autism. Tickets for the benefit start at $150, which includes a tour of the museum, food and drinks. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
