Guest guest
200 mgs is the dosage listed in the revised protocol from Orlando. I hope it's not wrong, my 6.5 yr old son just finished his third round at this dosage. I also verified it with Dr. Bradstreet's office that 200mg was the per dose amount, not the total amount per day. I would consider increasing much more slowly whether 4 or 8 hours. Even the insert for chemet says 10 mg/kg every 8 hours (or 350 mg max for adult) which is about 4 times higher than Dr. Amy seems to suggest. Sorry don't have weight of oyur son but please go slowly otherwise the negatives will start to override the positives. Good luck, KenG --- >>
Guest guest
, I'm assuming we're talking about DMSA here and not melatonin at 200mg a dose?! What Ken is trying to say, I think, is that per the recent protocol 200mg is a high dose as opposed to the 25-50mg dosage which is considered low dose.......yet, only just recently considered THE dose (1mg per pound of body weight). Some of us have kept our kids at the low dose (my daughter will be 8 years old next month and I recently increased her dosage to 50mg every 4 hours without incident) to reduce the risk factor. If your son is experiencing negative reactions at the high dose, please follow his lead and reduce the dose to one he can manage comfortably. Re: [ ] Re: Melatonin - Help! Guest guest
, Well, I would say negatives would include a severe worsening of his autism symtoms or new ones cropping up. Generally, tantrums were an indicator thay my daughter ate something her body couldn't tolerate. Have you tried any dietary interventions for your son? They made a wonderful change in my daughter - much happier and calm. Re: [ ] Re: Melatonin - Help! DMSA Dosage > > > > 200 mgs is the dosage listed in the revised protocol from Orlando.
