Guest guest
I was off a couple days, so I'm catching up as well. I have to make comments on half a dozen items already discussed, sorry! ER - after the birth episode - my husband and I were watching it alone - I just started crying - couldn't explain it, but I guess I was just thinking back 8 mos. to the triplets' birth and the excitement. I can't believe they are 9 mos. at Christmas. This has been quite a year. This definitely is an emotional time of year. As you all talked/typed, I thought about how many times I wish I could spend more time with , give her more attention. Sometimes I feel the other two require more of our time, so gets " dumped " as we say because she is so happy and can play by herself. I wish I had more time to read up on DS, there's so much material out there. The books just lay around collecting dust sometimes. Our latest news is that was diagnosed with Congenital Glaucoma. It is not genetic and has nothing to do with DS. It's a birth defect we're told. That means we have to get the other two kids in to the opthalmologist for check ups next week. Thank God it is treatable an curable. It most likely will require outpatient surgery in the next 6 mos. to relieve the pressure on her optic nerves. Right now we are putting drops in her eyes. Kay mom to , and - 9 mos.
Guest guest
Kay: I know what you mean about ER. I didn't cry when Carol had the twins, but I did cry when Dr. Benton's little boy was born early. Boy those NICU scenes were quite true to life!! Those really did me in. Sorry to hear about 's glaucoma. I hope everything goes well with the other two! I know you'll keep us informed when it gets close to surgery so we can keep y'all in our prayers. The boys see a wonderful Ped. Optham. We started w/him in NICU and just continued on after discharge. He's been tracking Sam for Nystagmus and possible occular albinism (which I think they've pretty much ruled out). goes 1x a year and Sam goes every 6mos. Judi-Mom to Sam & , Almost 3!
