Jean-

I too watched E.R. I love the twin story but was upset by the birth scene.

All I heard from the moment they knew twins were coming is how quickly they

deliver them. Sara and Maggie were 3 minutes apart (both vaginal). On t.v.

she had one baby and then just sat back like the cocktail waitress would be

coming by in between births. I had one nurse practically stomping on my

belly to force Maggie out!

Hi everyone - what happened to Rosie O'Donnell?

From: " scottjeanroberts " <scottjeanroberts@...>

Something strange happened to my e mail, and all the mail from the list was

arriving in duplicate and triplicate. (How appropriate, for this group).

They also came one day late. So I've been catching up, enjoying all the

gorgeous children's pictures, following with special interest the thread on

feeling blue. Man, I've had my bouts with that. I figure with the

combination of multiples, down syndrome, holiday expectations, school

vacations, the shortness of the days, that the stress levels are super high.

This can cause depression for me. I too, am years into the DS thing, so I

feel like with each passing year, the strengths are finally gaining on the

setbacks.

We've had a tough week, with news that Danny has Atlanto-Axial Instability

(he's 6). We had him X Rayed at age 2 1\2 and he was normal, so this was

lousy news. His strength has always been his motor skills, and the thought

of having to slow him down makes me angry. He's a wild man, a born athlete,

and very imitative. But, we'll manage. It could be worse. So, time to

count the blessings - this has been one of few problems we've had.

My faith helps me a lot, too, Marcia. And if necessary, antidepressants!

Actually, seriously, when the boys were about eight months old, I did

become clinically depressed. It was postpartum depression, and happened

around this time of year. But everything worked out O.K. I think if I'd

had a support group like this, it may have staved it off a bit. Isolation

can make you climb the walls. There definitely is no shame in taking

medication if it helps you. And if it helps you, it improves your kid's

lives, too.

I may try to make it to chat tonight. But I've got to see if Niles tells

Daphne he loves her at nine o'clock and I can't miss E.R. at ten! What can

I say? MUST SEE TV

By the way, what happened to the Rosie O'Donnell Show?

Hi Jean: Thanks for sharing your " words of widsom " .

It does help sharing w/someone who's going/gone thru

the same things, doesn't it?

I'm sorry to hear about Danny! I know that when we go

to the DS Clinic next month that's one of the things

they will check since Sam and will be 3. I've

not done much research in that area, is there

something that can be done? Surgery, etc? Or is it

something he'll just have to live with and adjust his

lifestyle? Please let us know. He'll (and you) will

be in my prayers.

Hi , I too have been following ER's twins!

However, I could relate to what she went thru -

Sam was the one in a hurry to be born, he was first,

born at 6:39pm. was breach, way up under my

ribs and was not in any hurry. They tried to turn him

3X's and finally succeeded, but then a sono showed his

cord over his head so he was a c-section. He was born

at 7:13pm. So, they were born 34 minutes apart!

Hi Judi-

When Sara was born she spun Maggie around and Maggie was then breech.

Honest-to-God, I heard my doctor say, " What the hell " . and he grabbed Maggie

and pulled her out! I guess now-a-days they do a c-section rather than try

to birth a breech. Dr. Brewer said he hadn't delivered a baby like that in

8 years. He even said had I videoed he would have bought it from me! I

never wanted to video cause I wonder who would I show it too? My husband

and medical people are about the only people who I want to see me in that

beautiful and revealing position.

: LOL, know what you mean about the video thing..

We didn't do the video thing, but my cousin came by

the hosp. & brought a regular camera. As each boy

came out, Mike just kind of poked the camera over the

" drape " and fired off a bunch of pictures. Needless

to say, some of them have been destroyed, along with

the negatives!!
