Guest guest
Hi Joy, That's a lot to deal with. You are taking as many meds as me. I always have fear of losing my insurance. How do you deal with that? Do you have other family members close by? -----Original Message-----From: Joy [mailto:jhooper@...]Sent: Saturday, August 16, 2003 8:24 PMRheumatoid Arthritis Subject: New To Posting Hi I am 58, will be 59 next month and have arthtitis, fibro, heart, diabetes, high blood pressure, depression, problems sleeping. My dr. did some blood work but says I don't have RA. I have nodules on several of my fingers. I also have pain in my knees and hips, also in my feet and hands. My hands sometimes I cannot even open a jar, It hurts and I have not strength. I also have a pinched nerve in my hip. He said the blood work does not say RA, but said there are many kinds of arthritis. do the nodules mean I have RA? I take for the arthritis and fibro celebrex if needed, 100mgx2 day, celexa for depression 40mgsx1 day, then I take other meds for diabetes, heart and high blood pressure. Everything seem to be under control with my other health problems thank God . I also take ultram 3xday for pain if needed and vicodin for break through pain. I also take tramadol 100mg at bedtime to help me sleep. The dr. just raised it to that and it sure is helping. I have a lot of stress at the time, my husband and I of 35 years split up in January, he has a track record with other women and I am just weary of going through that again. We also went bankrupt on our home and I now have nothing. My job was terminated in June. I am staying in the home at this time as it has not been finished yet, then I have no idea what I will do. I signed up for SSD and SSI so hope I will be able to get it. Thank you for listening, Joy
Guest guest
Hi Joy, I also have arthritis, recently diagnosed with Inflammatory Arthritis but my rheumatologist isnt for sure yet if it is RA or a close cousin. I have a negative RA Factor. But, he also tells me that 20-30% of people test negative and have RA. If your dr is not a Rheumatologist I would suggest you go see one. I have done alot of reading on the subject and RA is the only one that produces the nodules that i know of. Of course I am no expert, that is why i see a rheumy. I also have trouble with hands, knees, ankles and just about every joint there is. There are some good treatments out nowadays for this. Good luck and God Bless.Joy <jhooper@...> wrote: Hi I am 58, will be 59 next month and have arthtitis, fibro, heart, diabetes, high blood pressure, depression, problems sleeping. Guest guest
Hi Jean. First welcome to the group! Second, what is PB.... I'm having brain lock... What kind of root are we talking about.... and what formula?? are we tincturing just the root? If you have no "wetness" to the root and it is vacumn sealed it should last a week or two I would think...maybe longer... you could alway make your formula now and let it sit longer thru a whole moon cycle. it will get stronger. Orange peels are very good for you... lots of vit. c - But the organics - or oranges that are grown without pesticides... Yes you can grow your own plants and make tinctures - I order my seeds from places like Richters, or plants from Companion Plants... to name a couple... There is also a resource file on suppliers. Suzipskchli <pskchli@...> wrote: and was wondering, if you get a fresh root from PB if you put it in a Vac food saver bag in the ref., how long would it last for tincturing?Expectally if you wanted to wait for a new moon?I also hear that orange peels you should not eat because of the oils that are in it, I have never heard that before, is this true? I always thought they were good for you.I was also wondering if one buys seed from PB (like lobelia or any seeds) can you plant them and grow your own as well as making a tinctur from them.Thank you for all responesJean

Hope you enjoy being with us. I am not sure what PB is but if you carefully dry your root, as in slice it lengthwise and allow to dry slowly it will last for several years. Course, you could just freeze it too but I wouldn't worry too much about that. Your root will not lose much between the time you pull it and the new moon when you tincture it. Yes, orange peels have orange oil in them. Lemon peels have lemon oil, grapefruit peels have grapefruits oil, etc. All citrus fruits have oil in them. This oil in non hazardous to your body. So eating the skins will not hurt you in the least unless you were to eat maybe a pound or two of them. Now maybe what you are hearing are about pesticides that are on the skins. All pesticides are an oil based chemical soup. Being oil based they will not wash off when it rains. However, if you wash your fruits with soap and water before peeling or whatever you will wash the pesticides off. Does this help?
