Wow! Thanks Karin! I'm saving this info in my " medical

stuff " folder for future use.

Something sort of interesting... I baby-sit for a

family once a week. They have three kids... a 6 year

old girl (NDA), a 5 year old boy (CD), and a 3 month

old girl (DS). When they found out that their 3rd

would have DS, when the mother was pregnant, they also

found out that their son has CD. Do you think that

since her brother has CD... the infant's chances of

having CD is increased (more so than just having DS to

increase her odds)??

Onto Dwarfism... I know of another child with DS and

Dwarfism. I baby-sit for a family that has a 9 year

old (I think she's 9) who is also extremely short

stature. When she was 7 she was wearing the same size

as her 4 year old sister (and had room to fill!). She

also has the similar walk (extra movement in the butt)

and extremely small arms and legs -- and not sure if

this is a link but she also has a large protruding

tummy. Her head seems to be in proportion with her

body. She was diagnosed as having " Mental dwarfism " or

something like that and the MDs think it's linked to

abuse in her early years (she is adopted as well), if

I am remembering correctly. Karin, if you want her

mother's contact info, let me know.

Sara
